Getting the Green Light.
Newton Gateway is equipped with an LED signal system conveniently located on the Gateway face. The LED indicators are responsible for communicating the Gateway operational status, and each LED delivers a different message.
* Currently, Newton Gateway only operates at 2.4GHz
Network LED
ON if Ethernet is connected. Gateway checks every 1 second whether Ethernet link is connected.
2.4GHz SIL LED
Blinks (1 sec duration) if the Server Interface layer is operational. Gateway checks the operation of the Server Interface layer.
2.4GHz TML LED
Blinks (3 sec duration) if the RF Modem is operational. Gateway checks the operation of the RF Modem layer.
Sub GHz SIL LED
Blinks (1 sec duration) if the Server Interface layer is operational. Gateway checks the operation of the Server interface layer.
Sub GHz TML LED
Blinks (wakeup order duration) if the RF Modem is operational. Gateway checks the operation of the RF Modem layer.
Newton Gateway Coverage
For optimum performance of the Newton System, there’s a simple way to calculate how many Gateways are needed depending on the store area.
2,800 sq meters = 1 Newton Gateway + overlap*
*Overlap refers to the intersection between the coverage of multiple Gateways to ensure that all ESLs are covered.
Compared to Zigbee protocol which has about 11~16 available RF channel, Newton Protocol has about over 60 available RF channel which gives much easier CH setting environment.
Newton Auto Channel Selection function gives a CH hopping capability when there is a
collision between unexpected WIFI interference to make sure the CH for Newton Gateway is
always on the clean/free CH.
“With Newton Gateways, your business can easily connect to the Point-of-Sale system. You will be able to deliver dynamic sales and promotional activities to customers at the shelf in an instant. In due course, you will notice that the time and cost savings have helped improve your bottom line.”
